Try using an online Web Page Designer like Google Page Creator: http://pages.google.com or Microsoft Office Live basics: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/office...
Both are free.
The Microsoft site allows you to get your own domain name but with Googles the address of the site will be something like %26lt;yourname%26gt;.googlepages.com. I don%26#039;t believe you can post the finished production on your own server, but I hear the Google tool is pretty easy to use and is probably perfect for someone without much technology background.

many hosts offer site building as part of their hosting. Netfirms will give you site building software for signing up.
