I am looking to learn web development for creating simple pages for my husband%26#039;s company as well as my own. I am pretty PC literate and was an MCSE of NT and worked in IT support and LAN admin for 5+ years. I do not think I want to use Front Page b/c I have heard that it is easliy hacked, etc. Please advise. Thanks!

Dreamweaver is a must-have.
But only Dreamweaver is not enough. Also learn XHTML, CSS and a bit of javascript to start with.
Also having Photoshop skills will enhance your web design skills.
It depends on what kind of web page you want to make for your hubby%26#039;s company. If it%26#039;s just a plain static site, the above skills will suffice but If you need dynamic website with online form submission, shopping cart, back-end database, then you%26#039;ll have to learn programming such as PHP or ASP.net.
If you need a good website, contact me!! ;)

Very cool...Step by step program that will build your site with lots of professional features.
1. Walks you step-by-step through what to do and how to do it. Every step is clearly laid out and labeled with big, blue numbers and step-by-step screen caps (with support by video as needed).
2. Saves you tons of time. All you do is click and follow the instructions. You don%26#039;t have to try to figure out what%26#039;s next. You just click the next icon and follow the steps. The step-by-step screen caps make it much faster and easier to use and follow than programs that are all videos.
3. No expensive software. You can get the graphic software you need for around USD $100 (you get a 30 day trial). Yet, this is NOT sub par software. You can absolutely do the best %26quot;top drawer%26quot; graphics and special effects. Plus, the HTML editor is free.
4. Gives you an A to Z system. Everything is covered from the setting up of the software to drawing the header, adding color, text, style, patterns, gradients and photos, to saving the header.
Huge time save and allows you to put out a professional site and also master graphic design easily
