I%26#039;m setting rates for my web design business and am really surprised for the range in which rates vary from firm to firm. I%26#039;ve been quoted $300 to $2500 for a basic 5 page site. And the funny thing is, the prices don%26#039;t match the quality! Some great designers are charging low rates and some crappy designers charge huge rates! How do I determine what to charge?? (And please, serious answers only!)
Rates for web design?
I should think that 5 pages of basic web design should be close to $200.
$300 to $2500 is outragous!
Rates for web design?
I usually figure how much I want to get paid per hour and then estimate how many hours a job will take to complete. Some pages have alot more going on than others.. I wouldn%26#039;t charge the same for an html page as I would for like a jsp or asp page. Make sense?
Other Replys:I charge $50 an hour for web design, software tutoring and PC repairs
Other Replys:I charge $75/Hr. and I include setting up registration and hosting and make one submission to each of the important search engines. The cost per page or site should be a function of the complexity and the amount of creativity you put into it. At one end might be a site for a restaurant where you would have menues and perhaps a photo or two. At the other end might be a virtual store or a site for a real estate company with lots of photos and Virtual Tours, links to Multiple Listing, etc. and a searchable database.
