Where can I "order" a web site?

Hi,

I want to get a website going, it閳ユ獨 a 閳ユ笡ersonal website閳?not a business site. I have no experience in web design so %26quot;home-building%26quot; is not an option as I want a professional, well done job. I am looking for a company that will create a custom built, brilliant looking (by that I mean no doggy, cheap looking stuff) web page. I suppose what I am asking is if anyone knows of a company that creates web sites for individuals not corporations at affordable prices with brilliant results. I am willing to pay for quality but I just don閳ユ獩 have $1000+ to spend on this, if you get what I mean.

Thanks in advance.

Professional quality computer consulting typically runs about $125 to $200 per hour. You say you want %26quot;brilliant%26quot; results, so you are not going to get that for $50. Let%26#039;s say you find someone for $150/hour. Then even one day%26#039;s work is $1200. A good Web design will take more than one day.

Bottom line: if your budget is low, you cannot contract this out and get a really professional job. You are going to have to compromise one way or another. Get a student to do your design, perhaps. You will have no more than an adequate job with that (at best), but you can save some money, and probably stay within your budget. Or, you can learn how to do this yourself. That way, you will get exactly what you want, but of course the time investment will be huge when you add in the learning curve, and it will take you a lot longer to get up and running. Or, you can get a more realistic budget.

One possibilty, if you have a Macintosh computer, is to go to .mac %26quot;dotmac%26quot;). They have a subscription service there which includes a lot of things (storage space, etc.). One of their services is a Web design package that makes it very easy to put together a good looking Web page, basically by assembling different %26quot;parts.%26quot; Add this, take out that, etc., etc. It won%26#039;t match what a top-quality consultant can do, but it will be a LOT easier to get something good looking than starting out wholly on you own.

Other than that, you need to decide where you can compromise--price, time, or quality. I know you were hoping for different answer, but you should know the truth. Good luck!!
