I taught myself HTML about 6 years ago, put up a couple of basic websites, then walked away from them after about a year or so. I%26#039;m interested in getting back into writing web design, but I remember about the time I quit messing with it CSS was making a huge splash.
Other than CSS and HTML, are there any other programs I need to learn? Web pages are still being written with CSS and HTML, right? Also, do you have web sites that you recommend for beginners?
Thanks in advance
Writing basic web pages?
HTML is the easy to learn but not always the best for webpages. However, if it floats your boat then okay. CSS is definitely needed to customize the way it looks. However, along with HTML, I%26#039;d also prefer PHP. It will simplify your life a lot. The only downside is it%26#039;s complicated to learn. I only know basic PHP, but this website should help you with all your website needs: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t%26amp;ct=res%26amp;cd...

PHP is a MAJOR programming language, that is becoming standaradized, and I am in a forum, that is great, go here: http://www.computercodes.co.nr/ we talk a bunch about HTML/CSS/PHP!
Other Replys:Good to hear you%26#039;re back. Almost website now a days is database driven and dynamic. PHP(Web programming language) , MySql(Data Storage) is a great combination b/c both those programs are opensource (free) and the support is tremendous over the internet. As for recommended websites. After a while you learn how to pick and choose b/c each site has its ups and downs. For now I suggest starting with the source sites.
www.php.net
and
www.mysql.com
All the best
Other Replys:PHP,MYSQL, head to w3schools.com to learn them.
