.com or .biz?

What would be best for a small business, .com, .biz, or .net? Any differences with ads, prices, audience, success rate, etc? Any of them are cheap with yahoo, but I want to be as informed as possible before i make my domain. Thanks!

.com rules. just like in real-estate they tell you location location location, in domain names it%26#039;s .com ...it has always been as such and it will always as such be.

as a second choice i would look at .biz or.us before looking at .net

think of google. when people think of ggogle, they think of where to go to search. they don%26#039;t think of it as the search engine by the company named google. to them google is what will get you resultd you%26#039;re looking for. pop culture doesn%26#039;t say let%26#039;s %26quot;yahoo%26quot; this or %26quot;ask%26quot; that. they just google. that%26#039;s why google has now been introduced in the oxford english dictionary as a stand alone english word meaning engine search...the same goes for .com.... people automatically think of dot com first and not the others. dot net has an unplesant strange ring to it..like a wanna be that will never be.

if .com is prime real estate, .net is sub-prime real estate. good luck.

You go global especially with a business! .biz is not that popular as far as I know anyway. MANY use .com!!!!

Since there are so many types of things in this world the internet authority decided to make things a bit easier to weed through. For example, com stands for commercial. Biz stands for business and org stands for organization. Even though this would make things a bit easier to weed through, few people actually use the .biz over the .com because .com is more known.

Other Replys:Assume you see a URL advertised somewhere. The base of the URL is very catchy and easy to remember for when you get to your PC. But you can%26#039;t remember what the extension was. Was it .com, .biz, .net????????

Which will YOU try first??? My guess is .com. And if so you would be like most other people. The assumption is that a URL will end in .com simply because the most popular sites all use .com. Yahoo, Google, Microsoft even Blockbuster all use .com. People have been %26quot;programed%26quot; to assume the URL will end in .com.

Don%26#039;t expect that to change any time soon.
